Costume designs for the queen, knave, king, and cards

Today we were refining our costume ideas for the queen of hearts, king of hearts, knave and all of the cards. We had loads of different ideas but they have all been put into one costume. Here are the sketches:

Reflection Week 9-

Today in Big Projects we finished our preliminary sketches of the Queen,King and Knave of Hearts and the 2,5,7 of spades. I think that this went well because we were able to design all of the characters and reflect on what we designed with our group members.

To Do-
Add to the drawings
find materials for the costumes.

What has gone well?
We've almost finished our sketches and designs.

What hasn't?
We weren't able to find the planning document and as Danielle is away this week, we couldn't complete it.

What is on the list to do next week?
Complete our planning document.

What will I do differently next week?
Danielle will be back, so I won't need to wait if I can't access a document.

Evidence of Planning

This is what we have been brainstorming for how we were going to do the costumes and how we can link Cultural , Environmental , Social and Economic Sustainability into our show.

Below is a plan of what we are thinking of doing for our costumes that we are designing:

Below is a plan of what questions we need to address when making the costumes:

These are some brainstorms about costume ideas:

This is what we decided were our five main questions to lead our inquiry:

Questions and Brainstorms - Cadence

Sustainability big questions, around the production and showing sustainability through this.
1.How can we make the community apart of the costume sustainability process/ idea?
2. How can we show sustainability in our costumes?
3.How can be creative and think outside the box when making the costumes?
4.How do we make the characters realistic, bring them to life. How to make them so everyone can clearly tell what character they are?
5.What do we need to do to be efficient, especially time management wise?

For economic we looked at the money profit going into the community to help being more sustainable and thrift shopping/ up cycling. Also a brainstormed idea was using the resources efficiently.

Some ideas from the environment were, reduce, reuse and recycle, saving the environment for the future, working towards minimal waste and energy usage, encouragement of sustainable behaviour and respecting  nature.

Social sustainability was the hardest but the main ideas were making the community a nice safe and clean place for people and making a community people want to live in not are forced/ have to live.

Week 1 - Sustainability

Sustainability matters to me because heedless waste and careless consumption in the face of our planet is stupid, to put it bluntly. We're all aware of the increasing weather diversity, the population boom, and the continual divide between the haves and the have-nots; and yet we act like we can get around to fixing the world tomorrow, or maybe the day after, or the day after that.
Nothings' gonna change unless we change it. And that means small things, like being aware of what we consume.
'Waste not, want not' as it's said.

I want to work on the Tea Party(The Mad Hatter, the Mad March Hare, and the Dormouse.) and the Grimalkin (Cheshire Cat) costumes, to turn the traditional band of loons into something recognizably unique. I'd also like to work on Grimalkin to create a costume that accurately represents Grim's character, rather than a furry onesie or traditional fluffy Grimalkin costume.

My big project goal is to create designs with a focus towards the 3 Rs, and avoid buying anything new if at all possible.

I may need help with collaboration and people skills if I'm not the only one working on a costume piece.
